Harvick/Elliott

Everyone is in an uproar because of a racing incident. I’m going to try not to place blame on anyone accept maybe the fans. Both drivers have a right to be pissed and so do there fan bases but I feel one is a little more right then the other. Kevin Harvick has caused his share of wrecks and has been wrecked because of his temper (Rudd at Richmond comes to mind). With Chase though, he has this Golden Boy image and his fan base can not accept the he isn’t perfect. The cut tire was a racing accident, they both were racing hard for the lead. Harvick drove in deep and hit the gas, he slid up the track and hit Chase. Wasn’t intentional, was just hard racing. I understand Chase being upset but he, himself has done this many times (last year), he has tried slide jobs and isn’t clear and hits the car he was trying to pass. It happens, it’s racing, but those fans that are pissed at Harvick need to look back and see, their guy Engine #9 does that a lot and they don’t say a word. What happened later was a show of character with Chase and that’s what I don’t like. He was a lap down, almost 2 laps down. Yes he had a fast car but being a lapped car you should give ground to those racing for the win. Chase took it upon himself to not only let the leaders race but interfere in the out come by slowing and blocking lanes. He should feel disappointed in himself for that. That I’m sure isn’t how Bill raised him to race. To me that is a black eye on Chase. Harvick had a right to be upset and Chase as well but the way it was handled was awful. I guess though, it’s something other then Kyle Busch to talk about this week.
